The original bedroom presented several challenges, including a dated color palette with “jail cell gray” walls and a popcorn ceiling. The existing layout was also deemed inefficient for Noah’s evolving needs. The most striking change is the repositioning of the bed to the center of the room. This shift signifies a growing maturity, moving away from the floor-centric playtimes of younger years. While the days of spontaneous floor play might be fading, sentimental treasures like Hot Wheels and action figures are still kept, albeit now stored thoughtfully.
The existing accent wall and wood paneled ceiling from an earlier phase of the renovation provide a warm, cohesive backdrop. The new bedding complements these elements, enhancing the cozy, treehouse-like ambiance. The combination of green walls, wood ceiling, and leather accents creates an inviting atmosphere that even the homeowner finds themselves admiring.

Gone are the bulky shelves and desks of the past, replaced by a sleek, wall-mounted shelving system that perfectly accommodates Noah’s extensive Lego collection. The shelves’ sturdy construction has proven reliable, holding various sizes and heights of Lego creations without issue.

Trays and cups can be conveniently moved to the table for drawing sessions. The right side houses Noah’s gaming consoles, controllers, headphones, and other accessories. While typically more crowded, the current neatness is a testament to the thoughtful organization.
To enhance the gaming atmosphere, the closet is lined with LED strip lights and complemented by under-shelf pop lights for focused task lighting. While a temporary power strip setup is currently in place, an electrician will eventually install a dedicated outlet.

The room’s design maximizes storage potential. One side wall is dedicated to hats, while the other holds various supplies, using simple nails and Command hooks. The versatile Ikea Boaxel shelving system has proven its durability and value, having been reconfigured multiple times without losing its integrity.

The entryway features two metal pegboards, providing an ideal and accessible solution for displaying Nerf Guns and Light Sabers. This method has proven superior to previous attempts, allowing for easy access and organization of these larger toys.
