Orion, affectionately known as Berm, is a charming 4-year-old, neutered male Terrier mix weighing approximately 40 pounds. His journey began as part of a litter born to a TAP rescue mother. After being lovingly adopted as a puppy, Orion experienced a wonderful family life. However, his family recognized that he would truly flourish in a home with another canine companion, leading him to seek his forever family. Orion experiences separation anxiety and significantly benefits from the presence of a dog buddy, for which he is also prescribed Prozac. His wardrobe of sweaters and outfits also provides him with comfort. He is fully house-trained, leash-trained, has graduated from obedience training, and enjoys attending doggy daycare.
Known for his endearing “bat ears,” Orion is a true sweetheart who quickly wins over those he meets. He can be initially shy with strangers and requires a little time to warm up. Once he trusts someone, he transforms into an affectionate cuddle bug. Orion has a medium energy level and requires minimal grooming, making him a low-maintenance companion. He is deeply attached to his family and enjoys being by their side. Orion is excellent with other dogs and would greatly benefit from a dog sibling who can serve as a role model and help him maintain a sense of calm. His previous successful home environment was contingent on having another dog present. Orion is not fond of cats and has limited experience with children, suggesting that older kids would be a better fit.
An ideal home for Orion would be one filled with abundant love and patience, allowing him to develop into the best dog he can be. He will need a decompression period to settle in and a stable canine sibling to guide him. His perfect family would ideally have a work-from-home situation or someone who can provide companionship throughout the day. A calm and mellow home environment would be most suitable for Orion. If you believe you are the right match for Orion, a meeting is encouraged! His adoption fee is $150, which covers spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.
